The 8th Kuala Lumpur Tango Festival, 2015 aspires to give tango dancers the best of a festival.
We have top quality instructors and participants from around the region and globally.
New! Venue for the workshops - Kuala Lumpur Dancers' Association. There are 2 large studios with beautiful floors in Wisma OCM.. The Olympic Hotel is connected to Wisma OCM. Going to workshops will be a breeze - 3 minute walk within the building from room to workshop venue. This hotel/venue is a 10 minute walk from Chinatown - convenient
for delicious food outlets, spa/foot reflexology facilities and shopping, but with a little less.
New! Late Night Milonga for the Saturday Night.after Tango Tradisi. Easy walk down the hill from the Chin Woo Stadium to the KLDA studio.
New! Dance card for all dancers - record with signatures all the tandas for Thursday & Friday night. There will be a prize for the dancer with the most tandas - one male, one female, on the night of Tango Tradisi. This will be a queer friendly Festival, so dances between same gender and otherwise, accepted.
New! "Jack n Jill" competition on the night of Tango Tradisi. Judges will be our 6 Maestros/Maestras. All those interested to join, submit your names on Friday night. 6 names each, will be pulled out of the “hat” male ad female. They will then be paired up to dance Salon style – 1 Tango and 1 Milonga. There will only be one winning couple. Names will be announced on Sunday night at the Farewell Milonga and prize given.
New! No Gala Dinner/Dance so the price is reduced. All Milongas will provide light refreshments served after 10 pm. Late Night Milonga will also have light refreshments.
New! Change of performance format. Bruno & Rocio start the Festival with their performance on Thursday, followed by Fernando & Ariadna on Friday, Martin & Maurizio on Saturday and finally all three couples at the Farewell Milonga.
As usual, every night, you get the chance to dance with one of the instructors, if it is your luck, with the Welcome & Snowball Dances.
As usual, the warmest and most fun Festival in the region, with enthusiastic interaction among all participants.
